After a much needed break in the schedule, we are now entering the second quarter of 2021 with a new UFC Heavyweight Champion and a whole lot to look forward too. Despite there being no UFC events this week, there was still much to talk about. Whether it be the fall out from UFC 260 which gave us a new Heavyweight champion, or major fight bookings like Nate Diaz vs. Leon Edwards, the news cycle stayed busy as usual.

Finally got a hold of the belt & this is going to be for a while.
This right here is more than a belt, but a symbol of hope and dedication, it shows how far you can go if you believe in you and doesn't matter how far behind you are, doesn't matter how many pic.twitter.com/QSwNn4cuvL— Francis Ngannou (@francis_ngannou) March 29, 2021

To get us back into the swing of things, the UFC is serving up a fight night that will see Kevin Holland step up on short notice to fill in for the injured Darren will for the UFC Vegas 23 Headliner against Marvin Vettori. Holland is looking to undo his latest disappointing performance against Derrick Brunson whereas Vettori is looking to secure a 5 fight winning streak in his second headlining gig in his UFC career. With the middleweight division being as wide open as ever, an impressive win on this outing gives Vettori a strong case for a rematch with Adesanya.
